“Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction 2007 China”, namely “Summit Forum of Energy Conservation and Innovation in Green Financing” recently held in Beijing. As the invited honored guest, Conch group trustees, deputy general manager Mr. Yu Biao attended the conference, and made the theme lecture of “energy conservation and emission reduction practice at Conch Group”.
As the sponsor representative, Industrial Bank Company Limited director Li Renjie, East Asia and Pacific department of International Finance Corporation, director Richard Ranken separately made an open speech. At the conference, many representatives from Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection Department of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Research Institute of NDRC, Statistics Department of China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) etc separately made the speech on China energy conservation goal and policy measure, China energy supply and demand situation, energy developmental strategy, energy conservation and emission reduction under the financial supervising and managing etc.
Deputy general manager Yu Biao pointed out that, Conch Group actively takes each kind of measure to implement circulation economy, impels energy conservation and emission reduction. Firstly, vigorously carries “reduce quantity principle” in the design source, adopts to new equipment, realizes circulation use, impels energy conservation and falls energy consumption, reducing pollution. Next, strengthens the production process control, effectively reduces energy consumption, actively consumes each kind of industry waste residue, impels resources comprehensive utilization, whole realize to emission according to standard. Thirdly, unceasingly carries out technical innovation and basic theory research, takes WHG as the core to implement a series of energy conservation technology research and development, energy conservation equipment manufacture, realizes energy conservation and falls energy consumption. Fourth, strengthens international cooperation, vigorously impels clean development mechanism (CDM) project.

The above measures achieved remarkable success. Comprehensive energy consumption of each ton clinker is 20% lower, the emission of industry dust and SO₂ consistence is 70% lower than the cement industry average level. The limestone resources using ratio reached 100%. Consuming industrial solid rubbish nearly 20 million tons each year.

In the future, Conch Group will take the advantage of national level technology center: enlarge scientific research and development, fund investment on substitution energy, city rubbish use, raising solid rubbish consumption ability and its technological transformation. Further impel energy conservation and emission reduction, circulation economy development; diligently build resource conservation and environment friendly enterprise.
In the conference period, Mr.Yu Biao also separately talked with experts from government, relevant financing institute, exchanged information on energy conservation and emission reduction, such as NDRC, Industrial Bank, IFC. Everybody expressed Conch Group made a good start; achievement was excellent, effect was better. International Finance Corporation, Industrial Bank etc institute hoped to have the opportunity to carry on green financing on Conch's energy conservation technological transformation.
