On October 11^th, Professor Erik from Wageningen University Research Center, and Dr Zhang Mingli，director of the EU Urban environment China project office, accompanied by relevant leaders from Jiangsu Environmental Planning Institute, investigated China Cement Plant Co Ltd, with the purpose of examining the application of the voluntary environment management model, which had been using in energy-saving & emission-reducing activities.

March 2007, in order to improve the standard of environmental management, Nanjing Environmental Protection Agency invited Nanjing Automobile Corporation, China Cement Plant Co,. Ltd. and other four companies to participate in the EU project“Pilot Action-Implementing Voluntary Approaches for Urban Environmental management in China”, obtaining new managing approaches from EU′s experience on the aspect of environmental protection, opening eyesight, increasing resource utilization rate, and reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases. The purpose of this investigation is to understand the implementation of the 2nd project of EU-Asia Ecological protection, the latest progress of technology applications and so on.

Shi Meigao, the deputy general manager of China Cement Plant Co., Ltd. briefed the guests on enormous amount of work that they had done for energy-saving and emission-reducing, in which, the introduction on upcoming construction project of WHG was highlighted.

Professor Erik fully recognized the company′s work in the aspect of energy-saving, saying that a lot benefits would be obtained since the latest management model was brought to China, for example, Chinese enterprises could consult the best technology of EU, raise energy-saving efficiency and establish a platform for mutual communication.
